Mail Days:  For me there are 4 kinds of mail days.  The first kind is a "good mail day" - you get lots of the unwanted stuff, but there is some treasure to be found like a catalog from one of your favorite stores or an unexpected refund check.  The second is  an "outright disappointing day" -  all junk mail and bills.  Then there is a "mediocre day" - one of those days you receive that super cute pair of pants in the mail (potential for an "outstanding day"), but they don't fit (so now it's just "mediocre" on the verge of being "disappointing").  The last kind of day is my favorite - that would be an "outstanding mail day".  Outstanding days bring you something that makes you happy from the inside.  Most great days are made from personal notes or letters from family or friends.  Others are made by some great product that arrives that not only meets your expectations, but totally exceeds them.  Well, today was an outstanding mail day!  I ordered these great office supplies from Delight and absolutely LOVE them!  They're made by ecojot  and not only are they super duper cute, they're made from 100% recycled paper.  I ordered the workbook set and the set of 12 file folders.

2 Little Monkeys

Today has turned out to be a fabulous Saturday.  It's absolutely gorgeous here - sunny and low 70s.  Ahhhhh....  Started off with soccer and baseball and ended with some very relaxing time at home as a family.  The girls have spent their afternoon swinging in the willow tree by the pond while the boys played baseball together.  I just love watching them have fun together.  Hopefully they'll still love each other when they're teenagers!  For now, I'm enjoying their sweetness.

Last Minute Mother's Day Gift Idea

Are you still struggling for a gift idea for Mother's Day?  There's always the traditional flowers and hanging baskets, but if you're looking for something different, consider the gift of bamboo!  Not only is it an environmentally friendly gift, it is very unique!  The other cool thing about bamboo is that the different number of stalks you buy have different meanings.  Even numbers of stalks are "Yin" numbers and odd numbers of stalks are "Yang" numbers.  Each number has it's own special meaning - for example, 1 stalk means simplicity and a meaningful life.  You can read all the meanings here.  You'll have to scroll all the way down to see them.  Have fun with your bamboo gift giving!  Here's a picture of my bamboo - I bought mine before I knew about meanings.  Apparently 3 stalks means wealth and fertility.  Not sure about that last one - I already have 5 kids!

Proud Mama

I had such a fun time this afternoon at my kids' school.  All the 3rd grade classes put on a Living Art display for us to come and check out.  Each kid was assigned an artist and their job was to research their artist and do mini presentations at the Living Art show.  It was soooo cute - all these 8/9 year olds in full costume for their particular artists standing next to their own reproductions of their artist's art.  You just wandered around the classrooms and met all the artists and they told you all about "themselves" and their art.  It seemed like every artist was laughed at as a kid and didn't do well in school, lived a strange life, but then did this amazing art that we're all still loving today.  Makes me wander what little Pablo Picassos are floating around these days.  Hmmm...  Anyway, this is my son's reproduction of Edward Hopper's "The Long Leg".  If he were here he'd tell you the exact size it is and at what museum it is currently residing - he was very proud of his artist and his mama is very proud of him.  He did a great job for a 9 year old boy who is usually playing baseball.
